La Respuesta de los Convenios Internacionales de la OIT al Trabajo Migrante: Un Análisis Transversal

Abstract

This paper analyzes the treatment of the protection of migrant workers in international conventions of the ILO. The study relates the specific Conventions on this vulnerable group in connection with the general ILO Conventions. The report provides a review of the traditional response raised by ILO Conventions, as international labor standards, which set out basic principles and rights at work. These international standards apply especially on labor migration. The objective of these rules is to promote labor migration flows to settle in conditions of freedom, dignity, equity and security in line with the concept of decent work. ILO Conventions apply generally to all workers and their expansive legal effect unavoidably includes migrant workers. Undoubtedly, the Conventions are closely linked to the work of migrants and that means performing a cross and systematic analysis of a regulation certainly dispersed.
